Debating the GunLoons (Part VIII)

Case Study: Tom King

Background: “I’m a husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and local businessman who happens to be President of the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association as well as a hunter and outdoor enthusiast who believes unequivocally in the individual right to keep and bear arms.”

Discussion: Dumb as Box of Rocks

Many gunloons like to pretend they’re the bulwark between our liberties and going straight to the gulag without passing ‘Go.’ As such, many gunloon bloggers claim they never censor speech or delete comments or ban people.

Tom King is such a gunloon. In a discussion of the NRA’s efforts to allow felons access to firearms–I provided a cite from the Violence Policy Center (VPC).

That earned me a quick banning. Tom King sent me an email as to why:

Jadegold,

The Violence Policy Center is not a viable citation for proof of an NRA position, that’s like asking Israel to give a recommendation for Syria. I will allow your statement regarding gun ownership because I do not have time to check it out right now. I could have stated, as I saw in an earlier post, that CBS and the Georgetown Professor were anti gun hacks. I do believe either you or warvet did make a similar statement regarding John Lott.

Tom King

Tom’s not the brightest bulb out there…

    Update:

Here is the response I emailed to the Tom King-Dishonest Censor:

You’re dishonest. Essentially, you’re saying no citation concerning the NRA is viable because it doesn’t come from the NRA.

If you were honest, you’d cite a reason why VPC is wrong.

If you ever have the poor judgment to cite John Lott–it wouldn’t be too difficult to show why he’s not credible.
