Passionate, not murderous.
According to the GunLoons, threats and violence and assorted mayhem are fine–so long as you’re passionate about it.

Here’s what I said:
That’s a diplomatic way of saying they get pissy with me too, often because I defend your side’s right to speak and be treated like human beings with an opinion. You folks have the nut cases on your side too.
Comment by Sebastian — September 3, 2007 @ 5:12 pm
Where Sebastian? Where are the nut cases on our side?
Comment by Administrator — September 3, 2007 @ 5:17 pm
BTW, Sebastian, you linked your posting to a ‘Sharp as Marbles’ blogsite that basically says Robyn deserves the nasty comments. Are you suggesting your link wasn’t implying agreement?
Comment by Administrator — September 3, 2007 @ 5:19 pm
Well, I seem to recall Fr. Michael Pfleger threating to “stuff out” the owner of an Illinois gun shop, that was taken serious enough to draw some criticism from the archbishop. I seem to recall Rosie O’Donnell suggesting we should all be in jail.
I don’t recall seeing Robb saying that she deserved it. Reading over it, I still don’t see it. I see him suggesting that it’s hardly a shocker there are bozos on the internet.
Plus, don’t ever assume a link implies the endorsement of a comment. I linked to you, didn’t I?
Comment by Sebastian — September 3, 2007 @ 5:31 pm
Boy, that’s some ad hominem you’ve got going there. To bad it has absolutely nothing to do with reality.
We could also talk about Barbara Graham or Annette Stevens
Comment by thirdpower — September 3, 2007 @ 5:37 pm
Just a little background for those who aren’t aware:
Barbara Graham was an organizer and leader for the Million Mom March who was convicted of shooting and paralyzing a man.
Annette Stevens was the President of the Illinois Chapter of the Million Mom March. She was with drugs, an illegal firearms (serial number had been obliterated).
To this I would also add Hector Marroquin, who founded the once city-funded group “No Guns” in 1996. He was charged with sale of an assault rifle, a machine gun, two pistols and two silencers. This was only his second weapons related offense in as many years.
We can keep playing if you like, but I think at this point the correct strategic move is to let this tread die a quiet and embarrassing death.
Comment by Sebastian — September 3, 2007 @ 5:51 pm
Sebastian: We can play that game if you like–Harlon Carter (transformed NRA from a sport shooting org to an extremist group) murdered a Mexican child. David Keene’s (NRA Board member) son went to prison for shooting at another car in a road rage incident, Tim McVeigh, Ted Nugent, Sandy Adams (NRA Board member and owner of gun shop with over 900 gun sale violations), etc.
I’m content to play this game as long as you, Sebastian.
Comment by Administrator — September 3, 2007 @ 6:23 pm
Hey, I never said we don’t have bozos on our side. I just said you guys do too.
Also Tim McVeigh wasn’t a pro-gun leader. He was a deranged mass murderer.
Comment by Sebastian — September 3, 2007 @ 6:55 pm
Hey, I never said we don’t have bozos on our side. I just said you guys do too.
Pretty doubtful. You cite really one case and pretend it’s the norm.
As for McVeigh, let’s not forget he committed his murderous act for one reason: his belief the 2A was being threatened. And if you buy into the NRA rhetoric, he was justified.
Therein is the difference: our side doesn’t have organizations and bloggers telling its members and readers it’s acceptable to threaten, intimidate or kill its political opponents. OTOH, your side does.
Comment by Administrator — September 3, 2007 @ 7:04 pm
As for Harlan Carter, apparently his conviction was overturned on appeal. Carter claimed self-defense.
Comment by Sebastian — September 3, 2007 @ 7:04 pm
It also happened when he was a kid. He later went on to head to US Border Patrol, so I guess the feds didn’t have any issue with his past.
Comment by Sebastian — September 3, 2007 @ 7:05 pm
It also happened when he was a kid.
It happened when he was 18. He was convicted and it was later tossed on a technicality. Not unusual for Texas in the early 1930s when a crime involved a white man and a Mexican-American boy.
Comment by Administrator — September 3, 2007 @ 7:33 pm
The Anti side just has members of it’s leadership actually going out and shooting people and carrying guns like the above, Frank Melton, and Alderman Troutman.
And the fun continues.
Comment by thirdpower — September 3, 2007 @ 7:45 pm
Please quote where I said threats and violence are ok. I said rudeness was common on the ‘Net. Rudeness != threats and mayhem. Like normal, you antis have to make lies up out of whole cloth in order to try to prove your points.
And you compare me to a mass murderer and think that’s a reasonable argument?
It’s ok Jade, I’m used to it from people like you. Unlike Robyn, I have thick skin. You won’t see me shutting down comments.
What you will see me do is hit the range, look at a new shotgun, load some more ammo, and teach my girls gun safety.
Because your side is so weak, they can’t even get 200 people to show up at a nation wide protest. You can’t pass any laws, and you can’t prevent me from owning more guns.
Comment by Robb Allen — September 3, 2007 @ 8:05 pm
Define “technicality” or is that just what the VPC says?
Comment by Sebastian — September 3, 2007 @ 8:27 pm
Define “technicality”
Carter was convicted and sentenced to prison. During the appeals process, the case was thrown out because it was ruled the original judge didn’t provide adequate instruction to the jury WRT the law on self-defense. Technicality; IOW, case was not tossed on the basis of evidence.
Comment by Administrator — September 3, 2007 @ 8:55 pm
Here’s Robb Allen’s comment:
Robyn, I’m so sorry there are nasty people out there who say mean things, but come on lady, it’s the friggin’ Internet. If comments from some anonymous person makes you wet yourself, then maybe you need to find some other job that doesn’t put you in the spotlight.
A typically thuggish response.
Comment by Administrator — September 3, 2007 @ 9:02 pm
“thuggish”? Is that the anti buzzphrase of the moment? I guess it’s replaced “gun pusher”.
Still nothing about “threats & violence” being OK. What posts are you reading?
Comment by thirdpower — September 3, 2007 @ 9:22 pm
Not providing instruction on self-defense wouldn’t really qualify as a “technicality”
Comment by Sebastian — September 3, 2007 @ 9:30 pm
Reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit is it? Nor is logical thinking.
You and Alex “IFistMyAnusMoreThanYouCleanYourGun” are some of the most vile people I have ever encountered on the web. And you actually think me stating that coarse language is part of the Internet is the same as threats of violence?
To call you delusional would be an understatement.
Comment by Robb Allen — September 4, 2007 @ 9:34 am
Sebastian: It was a technicality. The facts of the case. Carter came home one day in 1931 to find his mother upset. His mom was upset because there were 3 Mexican-American kids in the neighborhood and she felt they may have had something to do with the theft of the family’s car sometime in the past. Carter grabbed his shotgun and confronted the kids with the purpose of forcing them to accompany him. The kids refused. Carter shot one of the kids.
The self-defense aspect is where exactly?
Comment by Administrator — September 4, 2007 @ 11:00 am
Robb: You’re a sick little twist, aren’t you? Of course, can we expect any differently from someone who advocates violence?
Comment by Administrator — September 4, 2007 @ 11:09 am
Seems it’s your buddy Alex who is the one advocating violence. Of course you have to throw out the red herrings when you’ve been shown (again) to be completely wrong on your claims. You keep making your claims of racism. It helps. (us that is)
Comment by thirdpower — September 4, 2007 @ 12:05 pm
I know it helps, Third.
GunLoons attract racists and bigots. See Ted Nugent.
Comment by Administrator — September 5, 2007 @ 11:10 am
You’ve already brought him up. Running out of your ad hominem examples? I guess the anti’s then attract liers and thieves. See Sherriff Jenne.
Comment by thirdpower — September 5, 2007 @ 12:29 pm
“liers”, Third?
You make this too easy.
Comment by Administrator — September 5, 2007 @ 1:27 pm
And down to nitpicking spelling. You’re done.
Comment by thirdpower — September 5, 2007 @ 1:39 pm
You just make it so easy, Third. Can’t help myself.
Tell us again how rifles aren’t ordnance.
Comment by Administrator — September 5, 2007 @ 2:12 pm
Another Red Herring. Tell us again how you were banned at Uncles. Or that the Framers were talking about bearing branches of the military.
Comment by thirdpower — September 5, 2007 @ 2:39 pm
Kevin Baker is a liar.
Comment by Administrator — September 5, 2007 @ 2:51 pm
And Wayne Mann of CA is a wanted murderer. Right, right. We get it.
Comment by thirdpower — September 5, 2007 @ 3:25 pm

Yes, Third, Kevin Baker remains a liar.
Comment by Administrator — September 5, 2007 @ 5:28 pm
You seem to have some sort of fascination w/ Kevin. Is there something you’re not telling us? You seem to keep wanting to talk about him.
Comment by thirdpower — September 5, 2007 @ 6:25 pm
You idiot, you wouldn’t know anything about reasoned discourse, even if it hit you in the face.
