During the "Assault weapons ban" you could still buy AR15 pattern rifles, you just couldn't get ones with a flash hider and a bayonet lug. So, even if the AWB was still in effect, this guy would have still been able to buy a rifle and not kill anyone. Uh, no it wasn’t.
