Where’s the NRA Love for Plaxico?

One would think the NRA would be loudly protesting the arrest of NYGiant WR and gunslinger Plaxico Burress. After all, the NRA has a long history of supporting gunloons who can’t be bothered with, y’know, observing the law.

For example, take Randy Weaver. Weaver was a white supremacist who illegally sold sawed-off shotguns. When he was to be arrested, he and his family shot and killed a federal marshall.

The NRA supported Weaver.

There was also David Koresh. Koresh was head of his own cult which involved child molestation and rape. When the feds tried to arrest him, he and his followers murdered several law enforcement agents.

The NRA supported Koresh.

Why not Plaxico?

Hmmm, what’s the difference between Randy Weaver, David Koresh and Plaxico Burress?

  1. Randy Weaver was entrapped by the government. His house was ambushed. His wife was shot while holding her baby in the doorway of his house. I am glad the NRA supported him. Koresh and his bunch were killed as side effect of a government publicity stunt. He was guilty as all get out. But the government was guilty too of the massacre of the innocents that followed. The football player took a loaded gun into a bar (where people get drunk) and should have been fined not thrown in jail for 3 years. The gun laws in ny are counter productive and stupid (and untill Obama makes appointments, probably unconstitutional). But the guy would have been arrested in Phoenix even with a permit to carry concealed because of the fact that he carried his firearm into a bar.
