Failin’ Palin
GOP gimmick and NRA postergirl, Sarah Palin announced her resignation as Governor of Alaska yesterday.
Why?
Her resignation news conference didn’t say why; it sounded as it were written by Jonathan Clark Sullivan–rambling, incoherent, semi-retarded.
But here’s my fearless take: Palin is about to get hit by some scandal that would endanger or end her political career. She has elected to get out now and start generating money; she’ll be a big draw on the conservative lecture tour (Chuck Todd of NBC says she could command $100K per speech) and she could get lucrative book, cable TV or radio gigs. By the time the scandal ends, she could retire comfortably.
